Attractions* De Hoop Nature Reserve - known for its fauna and flora and the magnificent dunes at Koppie Alleen, from which one can watch the whales which come to breed from June to November each year.* Potberg - walking and cycling trail - look out for the endangered Cape Vultures. * Malagas - experience the only manually operated pont in the country on the way to the Breede River estuary and Witsand. * Swellendam - historic old town - visit the Drostdy and old goal. * Bredasdorp - a visit to the Shipwreck museum is well worth while. * Arniston / Waenhuiskrans - fisherman's village and sea cave accessible at low tide. * Cape Agulhas - southernmost point in Africa - the lighthouse has a unique museum.

From Bredasdorp take the R319 to Swellendam. Travel for 8km. Turn right onto the gravel road to Malagas / De Hoop. Stay on this road for 40km to Potberg. Verfheuwel is on the left. From The Garden Route: 4km beyond Swellendam on the N2 towards Riviersonderend turn left on the road to Malagas. Travel for 22kmthen turn right to Ouplaas. Travel for 13km until you reach the T-junction. Turn left to Potberg. Travel for 4km. Verfheuwel is on your left.Location
