Three charming bedrooms, each with queen-sized beds. Two open planned alcove rooms with two beds each. Three bath / shower rooms.
The upper floor is designed as an open plan living area, comprising the Lounge with a free-standing Jet Master fireplace, DSTV, Dining Area and Kitchen - the entire space mostly glassed on three sides, with a balcony running along two sides, and the sea right there in front of you. The large antique dining table, seating twelve, has been in the family for more than a hundred years, and has heard many stories told! Very suitable for small conferences.
The middle floor: The main bedroom is en suite with bath and the two open plan alcove bunk rooms share the shower room. Again with a balcony on two sides.
The lower floor has two private double bedrooms which share an en suite bath / shower room, and each has direct access to the lawn and the beach.
From wherever you are in the house, watch the sun and the moon rise out of the sea. Watch the waves breaking on the shore.
The home is fully furnished; has colourful duvets on the beds and extra cuddly blankets in winter.
The illusion of being on a ship is created by the structural wooden columns, timber floors and clad walls. Timber balconies form viewing decks from where 270 degree views can be experienced.
There is a fully appointed Kitchen with four plate stove, an oven, a microwave, and a spacious fridge / freezer.
Between the house and the Bachelor Flat stretches a large walled courtyard, with a built-up braai, brick paving, lawn and trees.
A full-time housekeeper is at your service, her family having been with us for more than twenty-five years.
Safe off-street parking for four cars is provided and the gates can be locked.
House trained pets are very welcome.
Arniston is a two hour drive by car from Cape Town. You follow a scenic drive over Sir Lowry's Pass, through the apple and pear orchards of Grabouw / Elgin, over Houw Hoek Pass, through the enchanting village of Bredasdorp, and so on to Arniston.
