Here birdlife abounds with 18 species, including Sacred Ibis, Herons, Cormorants, Egrets, Shrikes and Weavers, using it as a breeding ground with more than 52 visiting species identified. The bird tree is on the corner of Bath- and Barrystreet and grows next to the "Leiwater Dam" which is fed by the Keisie River. At an early stage a water furrow was built which was replaced by a pipeline in 1950. Every stand sold in 1851 and 1854 was entitled to have irrigation rights.
