Your hosts Lee and Abbi Wallis welcome you to their farm, Bovlei Valley Retreat, set on the outskirts of Wellington in the Cape Winelands, just 50 minutes from Cape Town. The estate lies at the foothills of the magnificent Limietberg and Hawequa mountains, which offer amazing views and create long hot summer days and cool evening breezes.
The farm harvests English Lavender and Guava fruit. Visit our newly opened winery, producing hand crafted boutique red wines. Private cellar tours, tasting and lunches available. Accommodation Guest House (4 Star Graded)
Each room has an en-suite bathroom. Beds are queen-size with fine cotton linen. Complementary wine, flowers and fresh fruit await. A honeymoon suite is available, where a champagne breakfast may be enjoyed from the comfort of your four-poster bed. All rooms are equipped with remote control air-conditioning / heating, colour television, and tea and coffee making facilities. The private verandas and swimming pool take in the spectacular views of the farm and surrounding mountains. An honesty bar is also available. Centred on a fragrant herb garden and overlooked by lavender fields, vines and mountains, all rooms have the most magnificent views. Superior Suite: Lavender A cottage room overlooking the lavender fields, and Groenberg mountain. Romantic four poster bed, goose down duvet, ensuite bathroom and added comfort. Executive Cottage: Guava A romantic and secluded cottage in the guava orchard. Two ensuite double rooms, private garden with own pool, lounge, kitchen and fire place. Perfect for romantic getaways. Guava is also a self catering option. All modern comforts are provided in each room, including private veranda, queen sized beds with fine cotton linen, colour television, Cd Player & radio, fridge, air-conditioning and heating, tea tray with homemade lavender cookies, pool towels, and safe. Celebrate your honeymoon or anniversary in our Lavender suite or Guava cottage. Enjoy champagne breakfast in bed, rose petals and added extras. Servced daily, air-conditioned and heated. Guava cottage is the ideal place to totally getaway from it all. The cottage offers complete privacy in the middle of the guava orchard. It hosts an own private garden and heated swimming pool. Large patio doors lead from all rooms on to the patio and braai area, which overlooks the pool. DiningFull English and Continental breakfast is served on the veranda of the manor house, or on the lawn around the swimming pool. Picnic lunches and evening meals available by prior request. We also offer a wide range of wines from the Bovlei Valley and local area.

Each wedding is organised and run personally by the owners Abbi & Lee Wallis. We only allow six weddings a year at Bovlei Valley Retreat, making your day truly special and unique. When hosting your wedding at Bovlei Valley Retreat you have exclusive hire of the venue and guest house including four guest suites and the honeymoon suite. We ensure a truly warm, friendly and personal atmosphere.

DirectionsDrive on the N1, travelling North from Cape Town. Turn left on the R44 turnoff to Wellington. At the stop, zero your odometer and turn left to Wellington. After 500m you will notice sign boards on your left indicating the start of the Paarl Wine Route and Animal Zone on your left. After approximately 18km (From point 1 above) you will pass Neethlingshof Estate on your left. After 20.2km you will reach a 4-way stop intersection. Continue straight towards Wellington. This is also the start of the Wellington Wine Route. Continue straight through the first robot at approximately 23.5 km's and turn left at the very next robot, 24.4km's. Turn right at the next robot (Kerk Street)(25.6km's), you will see the Andrew Murray statue on your left in front of the Church. Head straight through the Central Business District, cross the 3-way stop street at 26.7km's and the 4-way stop 27.2km's. Pass Bovlei Winery on your right hand side at 28.2km's. After 28.5km's you will see the following sign, turn left here into Hill Road. You will see Redemption Shop on your left. 50m on and you will see the following sign to Bovlei Valley Road, turn right here. At the next intersection turn right (29.1km's) and continue straight onto the gravel road. You will see the signage to Bovlei Valley Retreat on your right hand side after 31.1km. Turn right here. At 31.3km's you will see the entrance to Bovlei Valley Retreat on your left hand side.Location |
