 Surrounded by majestic palms this tranquil retreat overlooks the magnificent Constantiaberg Mountains , taking in the rear view of the “Twelve Apostles” and “ Table Mountain ” Palm House was designed by a protégé of renowned architect Sir Herbert Baker in the early 1920’s and has been lovingly restored to its full grandeur.

Luxury Guest house, 10 en-suite rooms all equipped with Satellite television, direct-dial phones, hairdryers, safes and also have fully stocked mini-bars. Luxury Cottages in the grounds, together with a Pool House & Swimming pool are all just a short drive from Cape Town City Centre.

A full English breakfast is included or you may prefer to serve yourself from our South African Breakfast Buffet, filled with fresh local fruits. For anyone with special dietary needs our staff will happily prepare something just for you.

The Palm House is conveniently situated in Kenilworth, minutes from both the Claremont s and Cape Town s CBD and the beaches.
It is an elegant and sophisticated guest lodge, an ideal destination for those here on business or for pleasure.

Wood panelling, intimate alcoves, large fireplaces and rich fabrics create a warm ambience. 9 beautifully decorated en suite rooms and 1 suite.

A sumptious South African breakfast is served daily from the elegant breakfast room, or, during the summer months, on the patio.

During summer months - Guests can relax around the pool and enjoy a light lunch, In winter - enjoy a bottle of the Cape's finest wines around a large log fire.

 Most our spacious rooms have sofas and chairs to relax in while you unwind from your days site-seeing in the Cape Town area or a busy day by the pool.

Some of our rooms have Giant King-size Beds while other have 2 full-size double beds. Palm House makes a perfect place to spend your Honeymoon.

Our Executive Pool House is a mini Palm House overlooking the pool and gardens. Accommodation is 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and 2 lounges. The upper floor has a balcony with views of the mountain.

Family Cottages in the grounds have 2 bedrooms and a shower room. The front bedroom has a seating area for evenings and an outside terrace with table and chairs.Our personal service and special attention to detail will ensure your stay will be an experience to be remembered.

The markets are a magnet to tourists, and you can teat your skills at bartering at one of the many markets in the area. You can purchase hand crafted items in wood and stone as well as jewelry and clothing.

Cape Town and the surrounding area have an enormous selection of Restaurants, Bistros, Cafes, and Bars. Take a walk down almost any street or visit the smaller towns in the surrounding area and you will find people eating and drinking alfresco. Sitting in the warm Cape sunshine watching the world go by is a great way to spend an hour or so. Link this with incredible food at great value and you can see why so many people eat out.

Wynberg , the home of Palm House is the oldest suburb in Cape Town . Noted for its old cottages known as Little Chelsea and the Maynardville Open-Air Theatre, which presents Shakespearean productions during the balmy summer months.

We can arrage for you to see the wildlife of South Africa at a local Game Reserve only a few hours drive away. View Rhino, Buffalo, Giraffe, Zebra, Widebeast, Kudu, Springbok and many more. Ask about these trips.

Visit Spier and see the Cheetahs and picnic in the grounds on your way back visit Stellenbosch and the vinyards of the western cape. The scenery is stunning. 

Cape Town has some fantastic Golf Courses and Palm House is situated in the middle of the very best. Within a 15 km radius you will be able to find eight championship golf courses to play your round of golf for the day. 

Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens are very close to Palm House. Special events and open air concerts are held in the grounds. A great way to spend a lazy day.

We offer packages taylored to your requirements including various meal options for both lunch & dinner. Special rate overnight accomidation for delegates.


Directions

Welcome to Cape Town! You will start your journey along the N2 towards Cape Town. Take the last turnoff to Muizenberg on the M3 against the mountain (do not take the M5 Muizenberg turnoff). You will pass the University of Cape Town on your right hand side. Continue straight through the first set of traffic lights. Approaching the second set of traffic lights you will see a Shell Petrol Station. Take the left off ramp to Claremont into Paradise Road. You will approach a traffic circle (you have right of way), take the second exit (i.e. straight across) onto Newlands Road. Continue straight through the first set of traffic lights. The road will fork, take the left fork towards Wynberg, which is now Tennant Road. At the second set of traffic lights, turn right into Aliwal Road and turn immediately right into Oxford Street. We are the fourth house on the right, there is no number, just our name.
