Tip of Africa Guest House

Tip of Africa Guest House - accommodation in Bredasdorp Western Cape

Description

COMFORTABLE RELAXATION AT THE SOUTHERNMOST TIP

Cape L’Agulhas is surely the ultimate destination in visiting one of the most significant geographical points on our continent! This is where the Indian and Atlantic Oceans meet - according to the International Hydrographical Organisation.

A historic and cultural legacy has been left by the Khoi beach nomads who lived along the Agulhas coast. Fish traps and shell middens are still part of the valuable heritage of these forgotten people.

The Tip of Africa Guest House is conveniently located in close proximity of the above and during the winter months whales can be watched from the balcony!

The Overberg district is renowned for its unspoilt, natural beauty - with beaches, mountains, wildlife and the ever present fynbos!

Directions

Take the N2 through Somerset West towards Caledon. You'll have spectacular views of False Bay and the Peninsula from Sir Lowry's Pass before you descend into the Elgin valley – South Africa's apple-growing centre. Leaving Elgin with the Houwhoek Pass, a new vista unfolds – the rolling hills ("rûens" – pronounced "ruins") that stretch as far as the eye can see, which change dramatically from season to season. You pass the Hermanus turnoff and head into the hills, continuing towards Caledon, which is just over 100km (or one hour) from Cape Town. At Caledon, follow the sign posts as you turn right towards the southern most tip of Africa. Napier, 55km further on, is the gateway to the Cape Agulhas region, and one of the most picturesque villages in the Cape. Don't be misled by the quiet main street; this should be your first stop! The Tip of Africa Guest House is on the right hand corner of the first 4-way stop in the village of Agulhas.
