The beach is only 5 minutes away by car and some of the most beautiful golf courses in the Cape are located in the surrounding countryside of Somerset. There is an ideal connection to the airport. The beautiful wine farm Vergelegen is only 5 min. drive from Somer Place

Monkey Town, is only 5 min. from here.

Close to Somer Place you have 5 Golf Clubs only 10 - 30 min. drive

Hermanus is built along the shores of Walker Bay near the Southern most tip of Africa.

The University Town, Stellenbosch is only 20 km (15 min.) drive.

Sir Lowry's Pass, about 10 min. drive is the best place to have a bird's eye view over False Bay and Somerset West,

and if the weather permits, you also see the lovely view to Cape Town.

Paarl and Franschhoeck, situated on the Wine Route are approximately 80 - 100 km from Somer Place.

Cape Town, the "Mother City" is only 40 km from here, about 30 min. drive.

When visiting Cape Town, be sure not to miss the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront. The cableway up Table Mountain is also worth while. From Signal Hill you have a wonderful view over the Peninsula, Table Mountain and even Robben Island, where Mandela was in prison for many years. The "Two Ocean Aquarium" with animals from the Indian and Atlantic Ocean. Cape Town offers many possibilities for visitors interested in visiting the many museums.

Cape Point and the National Park is a must to visit and the scenic route along Chapman's Peak Drive.

Cape Agulhas, the most Southern tip of Africa is also a wonderful day trip.

From the airport you go on the N2 in direction to Somerset West; After ñ15 minutes drive you turn off : Exit 43 - Somerset West in direction Stellenbosch / Somerset West (R44): First big Crossing (robot) turn right in direction off Somerset West City ( Main road ); Then second robot (Traffic lights) turn right ( You will see my sign on the right-hand side Somer Place B&B ) Follow the signs: left, right, left and after ñ 200m on the left-hand side = Somer Place B&B
