| AttractionsThere are 10 wild flower reserves in and around Darling which, in Spring, is an experience of a lifetime. Darling is an ideal base from which to explore the West Coast National Park,
especially for flowers at Postberg
and excellent birding at Geelbek.
There is also whale watching at the park. Wine tasting and sales of magnificent award winning wines from the Darling district can be experienced at Cloof, Ormonde, Darling Cellars and Groote Post whose award winning restaurant "Hilda’s Kitchen" is not to be missed when visiting the West Coast. Fabulous entertainment at Evita se Perron, home of South Africa's favourite tannie, Evita Bezuidenhout, as well as art galleries and an outstanding museum. The West Coast Fossil Park is an hour's drive away on the Hopefield/Vredenburg road for daily guided tours while the stunning 13 mile beach at Yzerfontein is about a ten minute drive.
