Villa Ora is a serene colonial style home, with a wrap?around verandah and elegant public areas, leading to cool spacious bedrooms with high ceilings, beautiful wooden floors, superior furnishings, and every other facility required by the discerning guest.

We operate only 4 bedrooms so as to enable us to personally attend to the comfort of our guests. We gladly do those things that makes life easier for our guests.

We do dinners with a cordon bleu touch and serve excellent wines, our breakfasts are called wonderful, and we make conversation which our guests say they enjoy.

They will gladly share information and provide maps , pamphlets , etc. on attractions and the history of the area.

VILLA ORA is a serene 80+ years old . It is a colonial style home, featuring a sunny wrap around verandah and an elegant entrance hall , leading to cool spacious rooms with high ceilings and  
   

beautiful wooden floors. Great care was taken to preserve the character of the house whilst adding all the
modern mod cons required by the discerning guest.

Situated just off the centre of Oudtshoorn Town , and a few metres away from Route 328 which leads to the
world famous Cango Caves , VILLA ORA is ideally situated for you to park your car safely on site , and then
to take a short , leisurely walk to excellent restaurants and shops , museums , art galleries , etc.

The DINING AREA combines with the lounge and is utilised when the weather prevents the use of the
breakfast terrace.

The PORCH ( front verandah ) is nice and sunny and allows one to leisurely sit and watch the townsfolk go
about their business.

Accommodation

VILLA ORA has 4 SUPERIOR BEDROOMS , luxuriously furnished with the finest furniture , oriental carpets ,
percale linen , lambswool duvets , Angora blankets ,etc. Each bedroom also has an airconditioner , an oil
heater , a remote controlled T.V., and an electric hairdryer.

Each bedroom has an EN SUITE BATHROOM with shower , or bath ,or a combination of shower and bath.
Bathrooms are fitted with electric shaver points and towel heaters . Basic toiletries are provided .

VILLA ORA is surprisingly tranquil , especially the pool area where a
king sized pool is surrounded by lovely greenery and where there is
ample paved space to enjoy the warm South- African sunshine.

Overlooking the pool is the breakfast terrace , which also serves as an
open air dining area at night when the weather is fine , which is most
of the time in Oudtshoorn. Many a pleasant evening is spent out here.

A refrigerator with beers, wine, and sodas is to be found on the
breakfast terrace . Spirits are available and guests are invited to serve
themselves on an “ honesty bar “ principle.

Close by excercise machines can be found on the back verandah.
Regular bicycles are available to guests wishing to explore the town
further , or to do some serious riding.

Internet , E-mail, Phone and Fax facilities are also available.

There is a safe for storing valuables.

  
 

VILLA ORA is WHEELCHAIR FRIENDLY. All facilities are accessible to persons in wheelchairs.

  • A very generous , 3 course BREAKFAST is included in the tariff quoted.
  • A THREE COURSE DINNER ( a la carte ) with a cordon bleu touch is
    available by arrangement.

  • We cater for VEGETARIANS and will make arrangements for special
    dietary needs.

Directions

All entrance roads to Oudtshoorn converge at the Civic Centre and Museum. From that specific point take the turnoff to the Cango Caves ( Baron van Reede Street) At the third , and last, traffic light , Baron van Reede intersects with Church Street,(there is a Church on the corner), turn left into Church Street. Look out for the VILLA ORA entrance just beyond the Church.
