An Informal, friendly atmosphere in a beautiful private setting - a world away from the stress of modern living. Direct access onto the Klein Swartberg Mountains with all its diverse indigenous flora. Cool off in mineral water dam, kloofs to explore, country walks, mountain hikes or bring your mountain bike and explore the valley. We are only 19 kilometers off the famous R62 and 23 kilometres West of Ladismith town in the Klein Karoo, Western Cape. Bee Catcher is a guest farm so you will have the opportunity to interact directly with the animals. Pigs, piglets, sheep, lambs, goats (young ones always arriving).
Accommodation comprises of 2 spacious rooms in our B&B with ensuite showers OR 3 self catering secluded cottages. All with fully equipped kitchen braai area and bathroom. Bed linen and towels are provided.

BATS COTTAGE

Large bedroom with queen & single bed. Ensuite bathroom, Fully equipped kitchen ,Gas and electric. Stoep & Braai. Bed linen and towels provided. Beautiful mountain view.

BLUE GUM COTTAGE

Two Double bedrooms, One room with a queen & a single bed ,the other with two three quarter beds.Fully equipped kitchen/lounge with fireplace, gas & electric. Stoep & braai. Bed linen and towels Provided. Shaded by giant gum trees with spectacular mountain and farm views.

Attractions

Many hiking trips for all levels as well as Birdwatching,Swimming in the dams or exploring the kloof. Many species of indigenous wildlife to be found or spotted in the area and locally there is the award winning Ladismith cheese factory, local winery and national monuments. Mountain passes,scenic routes.Near by are many scenic mountain passes such as seweweeksport .

Facilities

Rooms in B&B have ceiling fans and large lounge dining area. Meals can be arranged prior to booking.

Braai facilities also available, sorry but we cannot provide everyone with braai wood in cottages, they are self catering.

Directions

Estimated 379 km from cape town- 31/2 hrs Estimated 192 km from George Airport- 21/2 hrs Coming from Barrydale R62 Take the LEFT LAINGSBURG turn off the R62, before you get to Ladismith (its just after the right hand turn for riversdale) Go straight on for approx 3km until you get to a T JUNCTION. Turn LEFT again for LAINGSBURG, carry straight on for another couple of km Turn RIGHT into VOORBAAT (good gravel road) Carry straight on for another couple of km's Take the 2nd LEFT (just after the little bridge and blue gum trees) Carry straight on until fork in the road- Bear right into our farm lane, keep going till you see the farm house. Coming from Calitzdorp R62 Go straight through LADISMITH (pass the left hand turnoff for the R62 ) Follow the road around the bend until you get to a T-JUNCTION (opposite the golf club, rugby field on left side) Turn LEFT onto the LAINGSBERG road. Drive for 17 kms until you see a sign for VOORBAAT turn RIGHT, go for a further 4kms Take the SECOND LEFT turn which is just after the bridge and the gum trees Follow the farm lane BEAR RIGHT at the JUNCTION and carry on until you see the farm house!
